Happy New Year!

We pray that you all had an encouraging time celebrating the birth of Jesus!

By God’s grace, this is the year that we will move to China. We are now 89% supported as we have heard of another partner in the ministry. As always, we are humbled by the partnerships God has given to us.

We do have some news regarding a change in the city in China that we are going to move to. We are now planning on moving to Tianjin, China. Tianjin is northwest of the city we were previously planning on moving to, Qingdao. There are some important reasons why we have made this decision.

First, we have another missionary family from our church that has been living in Tianjin for almost 2 years now. Many of you all have expressed concern about us going to a city by ourselves. This tension is eased somewhat as we will now be living in a city with our friends. This will be a great help to our spiritual strength and development. We know that this will not cure every issue but it will certainly help. Our other reasons for making this decision stem from this first reason.

Second, due to our friends growing familiarity for the city they live in, we will have a faster setup. By this, I mean that we will not have to spend as much time searching for an apartment and language school. These things have been discovered by our friends and will be a huge help to us to hit the ground running in our learning of Chinese!

Third, the language school that they have found provides a really good visa opportunity. We are currently going to enter China on a tourist visa. This requires us to leave the country every 60 days. Due to the language school they have found we will be able to get a student visa thus removing the necessity to leave every 60 days. Not only will we be able to get a student visa but we will get one from a school that is great at what they do.

We are excited for this and we are looking forward to living there. Please pray for us to reach 100% of our needed support so we can move to China soon! We love you and are praying that Christ would continue to be formed in us all!
